Kesari Official trailer released on 20 February 2019 by Dharma Productions. The trailer reached to 51 M people in this trailer shows the elements of Battle of Saragarhi.

KESARI is based on the true story of one of the bravest battles that India ever fought – the Battle of Saragarhi. The year is 1897 and the British Empire had conquered most of India, is now trying to infiltrate Afghanistan. To be posted at Saragarhi is no matter of pride for the newly formed Sikh regiment of the British Indian Army. Marked in color KESARI (Saffron), the Sikhs symbolize valor and pride and to die doing one’s duty.

Havaldar Ishar Singh, a faithful soldier of the British army, so for this, he is transferred by the British officers to take charge of the Saragarhi fort in the northwest province. Nothing much happens at this fort and just 21 Sikh soldiers guard this with limited arms and weapons. The Afghani leaders plan to attack and capture here first and then 2 more forts Goolistan and Lockhart before the day ends. Ishar Singh (Akshay Kumar), a proud warrior who prefers to live by his community rules, is often found in direct conflict with the orders of his British officers.
